Project Information and Overview

bullet

The new Ellsworth Loop Road is being constructed west of the existing Ellsworth Road.  In addition to the construction of the Ellsworth Loop Road, this project will provide road improvements on Rittenhouse Road to widen and improve traffic flow through and to the Ellsworth Loop Road.

The Ellsworth Loop Road will travel under the railroad, and there will be a new railroad bridge so that traffic is not impeded by the railroad traffic.

A pump station is being constructed to collect storm water from the depressed area of Rittenhouse and Ellsworth to be able to pump any storm water collected into the Maricopa County Flood Control District channel.  The pump station, which is located on the north side of the railroad tracks and on the west side of the future Loop Road, is being constructed 42 feet below grade - that means 130 cubic yards of dirt had to be hauled out of that area to begin construction!!

In addition to the road improvements, this project calls for water, sewer, and storm drain improvements to and along the Ellsworth Loop Road to accommodate the future development in that area.
